Morange Bags Golden Olive Award in Sony-Ericsson Mobile Application Competition

Beijing/Singapore, June 29, 2008: Singapore-based, mobile application developer Mozat Pte Ltd today announced it has received the Golden Olive Award in Beijing. MOZAT’s premium mobile software product, Morange, won in the category of Best Mobile Entertainment Service in the 3^rd Sony-Ericsson Cup China Mobile Application Competition.

This is one of the largest and most influential competitions in the mobile industry in China held once a year by Mobile China Media, the authoritative magazine in the mobile field, and Sony-Ericsson, the globally renowned mobile device manufacturer.

Mozat was invited to enter Morange in the competition in April this year. After more than two months of voting from end users and a rigorous evaluation and review by mobile industry researchers, investors and analysts, Morange beat over hundred other candidates, winning the Golden Olive Award for Best Mobile Entertainment Service. Ms. Judy Fei, Mozat’s marketing manager for China, attended the Golden Olive Award Ceremony held in Beijing on June 27th and gave a short presentation.

Morange V @ CommunicAsia 2008

Most of us who has been to PC shows will know about its all about sales and buy-all-high-tech stuff with best discounts. But to my suprise CommunicAsia is not about buying stuff at discount price.

Wii are having fun!

Compared with Microsoft’s X360 and Sony’s PS3, Nintendo’s game console Wii may be one generation behind in hardware, but it is truly one generate ahead in terms of imagination. Wii team probably shares the same belief with Morange Team here in MOZAT: Hardware doesn’t matter while Software and Imagination really make a difference. Driven by this belief, neither Morange nor Wii is designed to work on hardware with fastest CPU or sophisticated 3D engine of the age. Instead, we both work on the commonly available hardware platform and differentiate ourselves from the rest. Wii connects the physical world and virtual game world through every body motion. For Morange, we try to connect all the applications in the digital life into a single application that runs on an average phone. I guess Sony will never understand our belief and will continue building and promoting their 9-CPU game console.

On the contrary to this, what if a developer were to suggest a new feature? …. what we suggest are basically those that we can realize…. No developer here would have the delusion of realizing video chat on Nokia 8250 after installing Morange…
